Safety
Warranty
Chevrolet’s powertrain warranty covers the Bolt 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Polestar covers the 3. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Polestar 3 ends after only 4 years or 50,000 miles.
There are over 93 times as many Chevrolet dealers as there are Polestar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Bolt’s warranty.
Tires and Wheels
The Bolt has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Polestar 3 doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.
Suspension and Handling
For better maneuverability, the Bolt’s turning circle is 1.1 feet tighter than the Polestar 3’s (37.7 feet vs. 38.8 feet).
Chassis
The Chevrolet Bolt may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1900 to 2100 pounds less than the Polestar 3.
The Bolt is 1 foot, 11.3 inches shorter than the Polestar 3, making the Bolt easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.
The Bolt is 7.8 inches narrower than the Polestar 3, making the Bolt easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.
The front grille of the Bolt uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Polestar 3 doesn’t offer active grille shutters.
Cargo Capacity
The Bolt has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Polestar 3 with its rear seat folded (56.3 vs. 50 cubic feet).
Ergonomics
The Bolt’s power mirror controls are mounted on the armrest for easy access. The Polestar 3’s power mirror controls are embedded in the infotainment system, seriously distracting drivers who have to adjust them while driving.
